Long Weekend!

Well, Sherawn has started her own blog that she is using as her personal journal & so I thought, rather than let this blog go to waste, I'd start using it as my own personal journal as well as a family journal for us both. I can't promise to post as often as Sherawn, but I'll do what I can for you guys!

This week was a long week & this weekend was even longer! First, Wednesday & Thursday, we prescription burned large areas of reeds along the golf course in Snowflake. Then we had a huge training day with the Snowflake Fire Dept. at the Jake Flake Emergency Center then a 36 hour shift on the Taylor Fire & EMS Ambulance. All in all, it's been a really productive few days!

I just recently had a great training on preparing for wildfire season with the Show Low Fire Dept. too. I'm really excited for this wildfire season this year. I'm all set up to be deployed with Snowflake, Taylor, White Mountain Lake, & Show Low Fire Departments as well as with the Wilderness Medics company. There's already 12 wildfires spread across Colorado & it's shaping up to be a really active wildfire season. Hopefully I'll get to deploy as often as possible & make some good money for us so I can go back to school this fall.

For any of you who haven't heard, I'm going back to school this fall to pursue a pre-med degree through ASU!We're really excited & I have been overwhelmed by all of the support that I have had from the Chiefs at the different departments where I have been working. It's been a very bittersweet thing to be leaving Fire Fighting but I know it's what I was supposed to do & it, more than anything else, has showed me that I am capable of going back & excelling in school. I'm truly thankful for all of the experiences I have had here in the White Mountains & plan to return here when I complete my schooling.

We are so excited for everything that's coming for us & can't wait to see what the Lord has in store for us!

Random Spring Break Road Trip!

Hey guys! We just got back from a totally awesome & spontaneous road trip from Holbrook to Flagstaff to Disneyland! It was so much fun & we totally had a blast! It's bizzare because neither of us has had so many things go wrong in a single trip but we couldn't help but stay positive & the whole thing ended up being so fun!

These first pics are of us in front of the Wigwam Motel in Holbrook, AZ. Sherawn's always wanted to stay there & so we did!

That afternoon we went out & took a bunch of pictures with the dinosaurs they have there in town & went to see the museums & petrified wood shops they have there as well.

Then our bad luck started up, lol. Sherawn & I both recently purchased new phones & were planning on using them to document our trip with lots & lots of photos. When we were snapping away during our trip, however, my memory card suddenly said that it was full & could not take any more pictures! I was told I would have a 16Gb SD chip in the phone when I purchased it. Well, I opened the phone up & saw there was only a 2Gb SD chip inside! So we drove all the way back to Snowflake & confronted the store manager who sold me the phone. Turns out that, while Verizon's catalogues still say 16Gb SD cards pre-installed in all Droid X's, they are actually now being sold with only 2Gb cards. I won't bore you guys with the rest of the details but I will warn you NEVER to buy ANYTHING from Go Wireless in Snowflake, AZ EVER! :D But we figured it all out & got back later that night to stay in our awesome wigwam!

Time Flies!!!

Hi Everybody! We know it's been a super long time since we last posted on here! We've since been sealed in the Mesa, AZ temple, moved to Snowflake, AZ, & I've started on my way to becoming a career fire fighter! It's been a really exciting time for us with lots of changes & LOTS of work! But we're loving it! We could never have done any of it without all of your love & support! Thanks you guys! You're amazing!

It's Been A While...

Hello all of our awesome friends & family! We sure do love you all! Well, you all aught to know by now that wedding bells will soon be ringing for the both of us & we couldn't be more excited! It's been a whole lot of work but we're excited for the big day & for our honeymoon! We want to thank everyone in advance for all of the love, support, & cool presents we've been getting! You are all so important to us! My work doing pest control is the same as ever... not so fun. :/ But I may soon be switching jobs to go work for University of Phoenix. Sherawn's been out of work but that's not to say she hasn't been busy! She has done A TON of work getting ready for this wedding & it is gonna be AWESOME!!! I am so proud of her! :D We love all of you so much & are so excited to share our special day with you! Please come & make it an awesome night for us all to remember forever!!!
